Athletic Programs

Roxbury Latin Soccer Clinic

In this four-day clinic, athletes aged 8-15 will develop advanced technical skills and their soccer IQ, building a strong foundation that will set them up for success in their coming soccer seasons. Sectioned by age and ability, players will build confidence on the ball and improve accuracy and control in dribbling, passing, and shooting. And, as is the way at Roxbury Latin, we focus on the character of our players by fostering sportsmanship in a competitive environment.

Our experienced coaching staff is led by Roxbury Latin’s head J.V. soccer coach, George Matthews, and is made up of students on the Roxbury Latin varsity team as well as RL soccer alumni. They provide continuous instruction and feedback on individual skills and team concepts, while ensuring a safe, fun, challenging environment for young athletes to develop. Young athletes will walk away with new techniques and refined game-time decision-making skills.

No two days of our clinic will be the same, but most days will include some combination of drills, camp challenges, and competitive games on Roxbury Latin’s new turf field (or, in case of rain or extreme heat, our new Indoor Athletic Facility). All days will include fun challenges, new connections, and athletic and personal growth.

The Logistics: This clinic runs for four days, Monday through Thursday. Lunch will be provided each day. Extended day options are available for an additional cost beginning at 8 a.m. and ending at 4:30 p.m. During morning and afternoon extended day, students are able to request activities ranging from quiet projects to physical activity; our intimate size allows us to customize this time for the group each day.
